Welcome to the Münch Lab 🧠🪰. We’re fascinated by how the brain processes sensory information, especially smell and taste 👃👅. Using the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster as our model, we investigate how olfactory and gustatory cues are represented in the brain, how they interact, and how they influence feeding-related behaviors like food choice.

To tackle these questions, we combine advanced imaging 🔬, cutting-edge genetic tools 🧬, and detailed behavioral analysis 🎥. Our goal is to uncover the neural circuits and computations that translate sensory input into meaningful action.
